Need a little help from the 17 Hornet guys

I've been trying to talk myself out of buying one for a little while and I can't seem to do it. Now comes the question; which one? And why?

    Savage Model 25

    or

    RugerAmerican

No idea why the pic of the Savage didn't load. I sure appreciate any advice and input.

I'd go with the Ruger. I just like the looks of them better. There's nothing wrong with the Savage I'm sure. Its just not as good lookin in my opinion. I do like the price tag on it alot better though.

        X2
        Ruger = sexy
        Savage has always been UGLY.

I want a 17 hornet in bumble bee (yellow/black) laminate pretty bad. So I'm going to try to act like I didn't see that ruger American pic.

A buddy of mine has one. They're way nice man. He's busted coyotes and tons of prairie dogs with his. I want one too.

Thanks for the input. Now, what should I expect to pay? I've seen the Ruger from $599 to $999. A $400 price difference for the same exact gun just 600 miles between stores.

Cz makes one and R&M has it in stock.

Go to Saubier.com and ask the same question, and research this topic

Pretty sure the regular forum members have debated and provided facts as to which make/model 17HH to buy

I shoot a custom 17AH and have zero clue which factory rifle to recommend

                Very fun and addictive cartridge

Ruger 77/17 in 17 Hornet should run you about $725ish
Savage 25LW should run you about $600ish, or $640ish with thumbhole stock.

based on my research from Saubier: avoid the Savage M25 like the plague

the CZ 527 American appears to be the 17HH of choice , very accurate out of the box

CZ all the way.... When I was doing the research, Rugers kept coming up with bad triggers reviews and some accuracy issues. I also read a lot of negative stuff on the Savage M25. That is why I went with the CZ 527 varmint. It also had a set trigger that is pretty awesome.

Well take it from someone that had a savage model 25 walking varminter, go CZ you won't regret it. My model 25 was fairly accurate (about 1 to 1 1/4" at100), but my action was far from smooth. The seemed to easily bind and a few jams. The action reminded me of a rimfire action vs a centerfire. Just my two cents and maybe I had a lemon. Good luck

I don't have a 17 Hornet, YET, but I do have a 527 varmint in 204. Great gun, good trigger, plenty accurate for my needs. If I were to go with a 17 Hornet I would definitely consider the CZ!!
