Talk to me about ankle holsters

I am in the market for an ankle holster. It will be used everyday while Im at work and Im on my feet the better part of the day. My job requires me to traverse different obstacles during the day so it will need to be sturdy without much wiggle room. Ive read about not carrying on the ankle at all as it becomes cumbersome and not worth it. I cant carry on my hip at work so it will need to be concealed on my ankle.

Glock 27 will be my carry gun for this holster. Ive read good things about the "Galco" holsters. Anyone have any experience with these?

Oh I do. I practice from my hip carry quite often.

I had a situation at work today that made me really think about having my CCW on me at all times. I carry a G23 on my hip but cant carry it at work. Ankle is the next best place to put the smaller one.

I prefer pocket carry in a good pocket holster....invisible...easy to get too.

I carried a pistol on the ankle for many, many years, but it was a backup gun. Don't plan on getting to it quickly, but you will need to practice. And it will depend on what pants you are wearing as well. I wore Wranglers for years and tried carrying an ankle holster, but it just did not work out well. I would think that slacks would not be a good choice either, as they rise up and will expose the gun all the time.

Don't know anything about them but would wear one if I was carrying as a backup or like in your situation. A smaller gun might wear better. Like maybe one of the single stack .380s or 9mm.
I can't carry at work so that leaves that out...
