That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. You've heard, "you may beat the wrap but not the ride" I'm sure. Being arrested has zero to do with whether a person is guilty or innocent. Therefore, you arresting a person for legitimately not seeing that sign is a moot point. Officers are not perfect and never will be. they all make mistakes, just like your post in the thread the other day. You should be happy that one got the axe. I could see that comment you made being used against you in a courtroom.

I respect their opinions and everything. But they didn't get the entire story or see the picture posted. If they did and still came up with that being a legal sign I may encourage them to research the law a bit more. My point was the entire sign had to be legal at all angles. Not just most, all. If that wasn't the case they could post it on the ceiling and say, "Well, when you get at this angle at 2pm on a sunny day you can see the sign. Therefore, it's legal notice."
Not possible for any sign to be seen at all angles...... Doesn't matter what color its in. So no signs are legal? Have to post 4 or 5 of them at every entrance.

Until a case like this is hashed out in court, all the arguments are speculative. I think if we see open carry pass, it won't be too much longer before that happens.

I tend to agree here. I wanted to just bring to light the sign can be questioned. A court case would be the perfect thing to answer the debate. Somebody is going to end up in the wrong place. It will be interesting to see how this open carry thing unfolds for sure.

Yep! Heck, I carried in our local mall when we went for over a year before I saw they had posted the mall 30.06. Signs had been there for 1.5 years but they didn't post the store doors or the entrances between the stores and the mall. I always went in through sears and that entrance wasn't posted! Only the main mall entrances. They need to make a change to the law requiring them to post all public entrances and it'll probably take a court case to do it.

I think you are right on this part. Lots of people get away with it pretty regularly while carrying concealed, once open carry goes through, assuming it does, I think we will get to see a few of these play out in the court system for sure.

even if a case like this were hashed out in court it doesn't mean another case with different details would turn out the same way.

No but it could set precedent, there could be a defense about a specific color of lettering and background that could set the standard for the law being upheld, or some other things to that effect.

This reminds me of the current complaints from the gay community in Indiana. Difference with our group and others like us is - instead of complaining, lawsuits or picketing. We will just take our money somewhere else. If there is nowhere else, we will just open a business and take financial advantage of the need in the market. That's the beauty of the free market system. I know I'm attracted to any place that is blatant in personal small business ownership, Christian business ethics, gun/constitutional rights.

I'd open up a grocery store where conceal carrying is encouraged and make just as much money, if not more then the 30.06 stores.
Perfect. When someone is not serving you or treating you the way you want do something about it. This is one of the reason this is such a great group of guys.

I am the same way. Makes my wife so upset. We could've bought that cheaper at, (insert big box store). I'll gladly pay a little more to know my money went to someone trying to make a living for themselves and someone I can identify with. Not someone's monstrous bonus or private jet.

Adapt and overcome. If they want to block a certain group from entering their stores and buying their products I'm fine with that. If they want to willingly hand over part of their customer base I'll welcome every single person they don't want in their stores. I don't judge others based on their ideals, culture, color, age, or gender. Everyone's welcome. Your actions towards me and other will determine how I treat you. I wish more people thought that same way. Would be a much more pleasant place.

                            No doubt there.

I may need to see if your girlfriend can explain it to my wife. Haha. The woman thinks I'm the only one.
