My dad gave me a mini 14 ranch rifle a while back. I finally got around to cleaning it yesterday and after a good cleaning, I found the last 1/3 of the barrel might as well be a shotgun barrel. No rifling left at all. That explains the accuracy problems ive been having! Just wondering what the best way to proceeded would be. From the little I've read, the new barrel requires a gun smith to install and the prices I've seen range from $700 on up. I can't see spending $800 on a new barrel for a $500 rifle.
