    M&P 40 or Ruger SR40

I have had the M&P before and liked it. Seen a SR40 and thought I might get it instead. Who owns a SR40 and what can you tell me about it?

there is not even a comparison as far as quality goes...M&P. Junk the trigger and get an APEX kit for polymer perfection.

So if you spend roughly $300 more on the M&P, it is better?

It is already better than the sr40. The trigger makes it a whole new gun.

Got told today by my buddy who is a gunsmith to get another M&P. He had built my 1911 .45 when I was shooting handguns all the time years ago. It did surprise him I was not going towards another 1911. Told him I had to make sure Target Tease and my daughter could both shoot the gun in case something happened.

I will say that I have not shot a Ruger SR-anything. However, I have shot Glocks, XD's, M&P's, and handled the Ruger in the store. I don't think any of them that I have shot are any better than another, and that makes me think I would look hard at the less expensive models.

Haven't shot the ruger, but not sold on it based on feel. Not crazy about the shape of the hand grip, and the polymer feels more sound on the m&p. To be fair though, the m&p compact is my edc and I love it. I've never had a complaint about the trigger, but over the years it was gotten smoother with the thousands of rounds i've shot through it.

I have a SR40c. Used it to qualify for my chl. It's always been a favorite of mine. I recently purchased a M&P9c and I am very fond of it as well. I can't pick which one has the better trigger. Have been thinking about selling the SR40c because it is the only 40 cal I have.

I have discovered that the leather holster that I purchased for the SR40c perfectly fits my M&P9c and the hybrid holster that I purchased for the M&P9c also fits the SR40c.

I have a SR40c. I'm not a real pistol guru and it's the only one I have. But I'm pretty accurate with it and it's very comfortable In my hand. That's all I know.
