So what's the capacity and how much thinner is it than the double stack?

The 43's slide width is 1.02", same as its grip/frame. Standard slide width on Glocks is 1.18", but the grip/frame is wider than 1.18", like 3/8" wider. Hope this helps.

I do. The 9 is just as effective, gives you more capacity, and has less recoil

I like them both and no problem with the felt recoil difference. On my G23 I installed the tungston RSA and it helps with the snappy recoil. That extra weight under the barrel makes for a quick follow up shot and the extra bullet weight doesn't hurt. For everyday urban combat the couple of less rounds probably won't be noticed. And I always carry at least one extra mag so I still have a few rounds to throw down range.
