Colt 1911-22 Pachmayr Grips?

Anybody have one of these Colt 1911 Rail Guns in .22!?

I bought these pachmayr redwood grips to swap out the originals because I have seen pictures of a few others and I really like how it looks. BUT I get them and try to put them on and it's a no go... The Allen screw that holds the logo on the Pachmayr grips will not allow the grips to sit flush on the inside...
Anybody run into this!?

I would imagine you could countrsink those Allen screws so that the grip would sit flush. I have the same gun and its a blast to shoot.

That's what I was thinking. If you countersink them it might make the threads too long and you'd feel them on the outside.

just buy countersink allen screws at home depot or something... most 1911 have that section of the frame machined out... i have one of these, havent tryed those grips... i kept the originals

Yea there's already a machined out hole in the frame, it's just that these Allen screws don't line up with those holes

I was thinking use a countersink bit into the wood and buy shorter screws at the hardware store if needed. But I am not sure how thick the grips are.

Well I took my dremel and hit the screw heads with the little slow steady grinding.... It worked perfect!!!

How do you like the gun. I got one a few weeks ago , shot it ten or so times.
