    modular home on stilts

    anybody have a modular home? thinking of building a stilt home at the coast on my lot and was told to look into modular homes any info please would help.

      I know a guy that has an older modular home on stilts. Not at the coast, but near a creek bottom that floods every decade or so.

      My advice, if you are going that direction, would be to make sure the home is equipped to handle hurricane winds, as it will be totally exposed up on stilts. Other than that, I would assume it's just a matter of properly spacing the stilts and getting a crane to get the home up there.

        i looked at a few companies that build them on stilts and some use concrete stilts and hurricane straps on the roof trusses just for wind damage, i've read on palm harbor's website the have some on crystal beach area

          All kinds of mobile homes on pillars in La between pt arthur and holley beach.while it is odd, gotta do whatcha gotta do.

            well I'm looking to retire in the near future and have a lot down on the coast and looking at options ,bldg. code says house must be off the ground by 12ft. so I was gonna either site build a dried in home and I'll finish the interior or my other thought i was a entertaining was a modular home
