    6.5 Grendel upper

I'm wanting to build a semi lightweight "hunting" upper in 6.5 Grendel.....

What components would yall suggest I use?

I have a 6.8 SPC and it weighs in at a little over 11 lbs with my Ti suppressor right now......I'm wanting this 6.5 to be much lighter but still be a sub 3/4" gun

    Throw me some ideas!!!!

I'd like one with a 12.5 barrel but them suckers are hard to find.
    DD light rail.
Spikes tactical light weight NB bolt carrier.

I wouldn't get all its potential out of a 12.5" barrel, right? I was thinking 16 or 18

No you would not. But, for my intent and purposes it would be perfect.

But since carbon barrels are up for discussion around here. Pr makes a 20" 6.5 grendel barrel

I used a 20" Lilja with a Maxim bolt on my build.

6.5 optimal barrel length is 19-21"
When you say "light weight hunting" what are you hunting and what distance?

                        Out to 400 yards

I just don't want a bull barrel.....a accurate yet not super heavy barrel.....I was thinking 18" barrel but I guess I could go 20".....only reason I didn't wanna go 20" is because I'll be running a suppressor and didn't want the added length

18" will work just perfectly! I have an 18" Satern 6.5 G barrel. It shoots the Hornady SST 123gr great!!!
