Cheapest Ar build

How much did you guys build your ar for?

I'm looking at building an Ar over the next 6 months or so and was just wondering if it's worth the wait to try and buy parts when they go on sale.

Who had the cheapest build?

Buddy of mine got a complete blem lower from palmetto state, I believe it was on sale for around $100. He then went to a gun show and got a complete 16" upper with BCG for $450 ish. Not sure if you could get it much cheaper than that!

I think you can shop a bunch online and find parts to build one really cheap but shipping might get you. I'd watch PSA for daily deals and buy with patience. Everybody always points out $39 or $49 lowers but that is not a big factor in the build. The upper is where the money is. When PSA posts one cheap, jump on it.

At my favorite local shop AMSS tonight, they had a complete Aero Precision M5 (.308) lower for $220. I think that could result in a sub $600 AR-10 gun.

PSA upper (typically no BCG or charging handle)- $350
BCG- $100
Charging handle-$50
Plus sights/ optics and magazines.

I am right at $515 in the one i am currently building. That is everything but optics and mags. Bought everything online except the stripped lower, that came from a gun show. Like was mentioned, keep an eye on PSA's daily/weekly deals and scour the internet.

Cheapest BCG I have found.

If look on Midway they sometimes have barrels dirt cheap and you can pick up a stripped upper receiver for about $60-$80

I refuse to run a standard trigger so a bottom of the barrel everything, with a good trigger you can do for $600 ish
