Just shopping around for a custom rifle and was leaning towards a Christensen Arms, but now not so much. Anybody have any personal experience with a GunWerks product?

same parts can be purchased separately and built for a lot less money
IMO, GW followed the Kenny Jarrett school of business ... build nice custom rifles, charge premium dollar, and find a clientele that will pay for your product and services

Stiller Predator action $1000
Manners / McM stock $500 +
Custom barrel $375 (add $150 for fluting)
fit chamber crown barrel $250 *
pillar bed action to stock $225 *
Jewell trigger $200
ADL style bottom , $0 no additional charge
BDL style , $75 for bottom hardware
Detach Mag bottom metal , $200+
basically $2550 ~ $2625 with a custom action ; you can save even more $$$ ($600) by going with a Rem 700 donor action
* prices from service work quoted by S & S Precision Rifles as our very own "JohnnyBenchrest" works there
http://www.sandsprecisionrifles.com/index.cfm
add whatever glass you want LEU Mk4, USO, S&B, NF, Vortex, IOR, etc....
you can build a basic rifle very similar looking to this one for $2600
(threaded barrel, additional cerakote, DM hardware, ATLAS bipod, adjustable stock, scope, etc.. will all add to the price )
could build this rifle for around $2700 (less optics, and threaded barrel)
Borden Alpine action, McM Rem Hunter stock , pretty sure it's in .260 Rem
PM me if you want, I've been consulting and helping people build custom rifles for over 25 yrs

I agree with the above, they're great rifles but you're paying for a name just as with some of the other top firms that market them selves really well on a national level....Cooper, Jarrett, McWhorter, Ed Brown....etc.....
I think one of the things that you're also paying for is a turn key "system" as they call it. They're coming in a custom case with Load Development already performed, loaded ammo and the recipe. They typically are marketed and sold with a top end scope that's been dialed in and had a custom turret made to the specific load.
All JMO...you can certainly build less expensive.

I've got one and love it. Although many of the custom rifles will perform on par with my LR-1000, I had a chance to shoot the Gunwerks prior to purchasing it. When dropping that kind of coin, I felt better about a product that I knew would perform.
The other thing that I liked was the ability to buy the whole system, G7 rangefinder, g7 scope, even the ammo (although Im now duplicating their loads with my own hand loads). I started to buy components, but found long lead times on everything from barrels to triggers. I'm not the most patient guy, so that was driving me crazy.
I realize some think it's exorbitant, but I'll pay well for something tried and true that doesn't require me to reinvent the wheel and invest a bunch of time that I don't have. Too bad you aren't closer to Victoria, I'd let you try mine out...
My shots this year: 323, 568, and 87. All were DRT!
