feel like I got a good deal, what do you think.

Hit a couple of pawnshops today and picked a remimgton 700 ADL in .243, with a Nikon BDC 4.5-14x40. Gun is in great shape. Total was $548 out the door. I wonder if if I am rationalizing a bad deal to make myself feel better or if this was truely a good deal.

Academy sells the ADLs for $379 brand new.
    How much is that scope?

Unless you know exactly what you're buying, pawnshops aren't always a good deal.

I'd shoot it. If you are satisfied with the accuracy that's all that matters.

People spend a lot more on a lot less or just because of the name brand, like Mrbman said, if you like the way it shoots then you got a good deal.

roger that. I just hate thinking I spent any more than I should have. No doubt it will be a good gun, a lesson learned.

I've scored some awesome deals at pawn shops. But most of the time they are high.

Does yours have a wood or synthetic stock?

You may have gotten a better deal than you think.

From my experience, the composite stocks on the new ADLs are much more flimsy than the older ones. If you got an older ADL with the older, more firm, composite stock, you got a decent deal on a really accurate rifle.

I've got an older one in .243 that can shoot one hole groups with hand loads.

On the other hand, if you got the newer ADL, then you paid too much. Sorry.

I picked a BDL .270, older model. Stick is dinged up pretty good but bluing was good and bore was good. Old weaver scope for $400. Used a lot of hoppes bore cleaner and a vx1 3x9, clover leafs with federal premium Sierra game kings. She wanted 500, I put 400 on the table and she took it.

Well I did a little more research and figured out the rifle is a 700 sps stainless. I'm not sure how it affects the value, it is what it is.

Then I would say you go a good deal IMO.

Pawn shops are no where near what they used to be. I used to enjoy trolling them on Saturdays and landing good deals. Can't do that any more. May as well spend another $5 and buy new.
