    Sendero SFI

Question for all the Remington guys on here. Will a Remington Sendero SFI be stamped Sendero on the barrel?

I think SF means stainless fluted. I believe the SFI flutes aren't black like SFII.

Mine says sendero on box but not on barrel. When the SFII first came out, they had trouble with the black coming off the flutes, so I went with the SFI.

Why would they have a stainless fluted II with no stainless fluted I?

Ok, made me pull mine out of the safe and look. SF1 does not say Sendero on the barrel but if it is the bull barrell SS fluted with the HS stock with palm swell it is one....got mine around 2000 i think. Rem quit making for a while and then had the SF2 with the flutes painted black

SFI does not have the word Sendero stamped on it, but they are the second generation of the Sendero line. There are 3 generations of Sendero rifles. The first is the blued, heavy barrel with no flutes. 2nd is SFI, with flutes not painted. 3rd is tbe SFII, where the flutes are painted black. Pretty much all generations have the same stock and there are a few differences in the 3 generations, but not much other than the flute vs no flutes and stainless vs painted flutes. Other differences are double sling studs on SFII and slightly bigger bolt knob.

Thanks for the info guys and gals. I went ahead and purchased the rifle after doing a little research online. About to post the results on a new thread

Congrats. I love mine and it is a shooter. Picky on bullet depth and seating. Think all i need is a Jewell trigger. The 300 rum likes 180 grain loads.
