Pretty cool. Don't have much knowledge of the .17hmr round, but always hear good things!

The new savage 17hmr auto has a millisecond bolt-lock system, that's knew and it will be interesting to see how it holds up and functions. Also read where CCI is making a hotter 17hmr round that will improve the reliable function of the new savage 17hms, that's a different approach.

Don't realize what you are missing. I had to spend $1500 to get my Remington 700 to shoot as good as my $499. Savage off the shelf.

I used to think the same thing, then I realized I had a safe full of "safe queens" and nothing to go hunt with. Now many my safe queens ain't so purdy, and I no longer buy base on looks. Someday when my son inherits my guns he will think, " Dang dad this was a really nice gun to beat up hunting"

Somebody got a new toy!!! I've been looking for one for a while and just happen to come in to academy there she sat. Not the prettiest gun but can't wait to shoot this A17 semi-auto!!!

Which Nikon BDC should I put on it? The rim fire version or the .223 version?
