    wet ammo ?

FedEx dropped off some ammo while I was gone and my dog got the box and began to destroy it. Get home hours later and the shells are all over the ground and it's been raining all day. My question is should I just throw it out or is it okay? Its 204 and 22 250 shells. Stupid dog!

Unless they were submerged in water, wipe/dry them off and store them up. Should be good to go.

Dry it off quick . and put in a dry place.
Test a few "randomly". I bet they all go bang.
Especially sice you wont be depending on one round to

I'd try one out on the dog. But that's just me.

                      Shouldn't be a problem.

DO NOT use oil on ammo! Best way in the world to kill the primers... especially penetrating oil such as WD40...

Just dry it. If it was not submerged, it should be fine. Depending on what you've already done, and how long ago it has been, you can put the ammo in regular old uncooked rice and that will absorb all the moisture off of it. Don't know how many rounds you're talking about. Sometimes wiping doesn't dry the crevices around the primer/pocket so that has to dry by evaporation.

Chamber a round. Aim rifle at dog. If it goes click...throw it away. If it goes BOOM....ammo is OK.

Best advice yet love likely more you need to do. I would towel dry and lay on the table overnight and never look back

Ammo should be stored in a dry area to prevent corrosion. Should the casing become corroded, wipe it down and make sure it isnt pitted. If you put it in ammo cans after theyre dried off, no need to inspect until 5 yrs from now. If the pooch didnt dent any cases or cause projectiles to come loose in the case mouth, test by willing back and forth, spinning between two fingers, and pulling up and down, then you are good to go.
