    22 crickett or savage rascal??

Gonna be buying my son one of these two rifles and Im leaning toward the rascal. What says the greenscreen?

Before you buy a Cricket, look at it as far as loading. they were rather difficult to load with a scope. You almost had to put the shell in the barrel. I bought my grandson a Winchester bolt action, but he shot my 10-22 the most.

How old is your son? I bought my son a cricket and he has out grown it in a hurry. They are really small guns.

He is 5 but hes small for his age. my 597 and 10/22 are really too big for him

Savage rascal is a great little rifle. I recommend it highly over the cricket.

            CZ Scout is 10X better.

Out of the two, go with the Savage. I bought one for my son before he was born and it is fun to shoot as well as amazingly accurate for an awkward positioned peep site.

I bought a Savage Rascal for my 5 year old today. He's just a little bigger than most kids his age but not much. The trigger is great, the length of pull is great, the sights are great and he got to pick the color. We took it to the back yard and after 4 shots he was on target and loving it. I paid $170 for it at the local hardware store and we are really pleased so far.

This^^^^^ I cannot tell you how much better. The trigger rivals any good centerfire made ! Very accurate also. I probably bought my son's 15 years ago and it may be different now, but there is one downside. The safety is backwards to what Americans are used to. Push it forward for safe, pull it backwards to fire. Other than that, it's perfect for a small child.

I bought my nephew a Crickett and it is a pain in the butt to load. I put a cheap red dot scope on it and he loves it though.

look at a Henry Youth 22. He may decide to keep using it for a long time.
cool factor. looks like a "Big Boy" Rifle..... shoots like a big boy rifle..
I know an ole Codger that carries one because they are so light and nimble ...

I don't have any experiences with the ones you listed, but I went with the T/C hotshot for my little boy and it has been outstanding. I'd highly suggest you look at it before you make a purchase.

Henry youth lever action or the Henry mini bolt. Mini bolt has fiber optic sights

Bingo! I bought my son a Cricket a couple years ago and it is a pain to load and the trigger is awful! He loved it and shot it a lot but it has many shortcomings (but shortcomings are understandable at this price point).

The Rascal is a much nicer rifle with a better trigger. That would be my choice
