    If you had to choose

Wanna build me a good med range rifle maybe out to 600 on a good day. If you had to choose between the .260, 6.5 creedmoor, or the 257 Roberts. What would it be. I do not reload

A quick search on ableammo.com showed quite a bit more 6.5 creedmoor in stock than the other 2

The 260 rem or 6.5 creed will be your best choice with the 260 having a better ammo selection imo...it's been around much longer and more options are loaded for it.

I think balistically they'll both do better then the 25 at long range. Not faster or flatter shooting but more accurate with a wider selection of bullet weight.

From the list I would go with the .260. Plenty of .257 Weatherby ammo available to the non-loaders as well. :-). I know it is more expensive but love the round. .257 STW is awesome as well and you gan have ammo worked up for you by many vendors.

I will be building this rifle with a varmint special barrel contour as I have fallen in love with a rem 700 vs's

              From that list, 6.5 Creedmoor.

Not an ounce of difference between the .260 Rem and the 6.5 Creedmore according to Hodgdon's site, so ammo availability would be the deciding factor for me. The .257 Wby is a smoker as is the .270 Wby, but with greater recoil.

                    260 sounds very appealing

260 is usually more readily available ammo wise

APR is doing a 260 build on a rem 700 right now for me. I went through the same debate as you and went the 260 route.

                              260 all day long.

Don't get the Creedmoor fascination. It does absolutely nothing that the 260 hasn't been doing for 20 years and much better brass is available for the 260 (like Lapua) if you reload.
