You talking about sighting it in or getting the reticles aligned when putting it on?

I just put my gun in a gun vice and the. Put a poster or paper with a straight line on the wall and line them up.

              Do you mean leveling crosshairs?

I don't have a vice. I went to get a new scope and the guy took my old one off then decided against it cause it's not what I went for and he had me my bases and scope and said he didn't have time to put it back

I wouldn't call them a pos gun shop if you changed your mind, wasting his time.

But back on topic, find/use anything that will hold your rifle for you.
Get the rifle level, then get your crosshairs level with a line on the wall.
                    It really isn't that hard.

If you have it on a bipod, hang a string with a weight from a door knob. You can line up the vertical line of the crosshairs with the string. Should get you pretty straight.

On the rifle, take the top half of the rings off and put s level across the top of the bottom halves.

Put a level on the wall, make sure the bubbles are lined up in between the lines of the level, and draw a line on the wall. Pretty simple if you think a little bit.

place rifle in vice or on bags and shoulder.
adjust rifle that is comfortable for your shooting style

download some level apps onto your iPhone (most are free) .... bubble level, surface, spirit, etc...

you can use surface bubble level to make sure rifle is level

then place iPhone on wall, table, mantle, fence, etc... with level making sure iPhone is perfectly level , around 20 yds from rifle . You can use a standard carpenters level if necessary

then look thru rifle scope and fine tune scope crosshairs left and right to make sure they are parallel with scope level or straight line

                              that should get you close
