Personally i dont like them the circles cover up a lot. But for shooting game they are great especially if you know your dope and have the spot on app. Ive made one shot kills out to 400 with mine.

I have one and like it. There is an iPhone app that lets you enter your ammo and other information and will give you exact distances at each power.

I have 6 different deer rifles in my safe that are "mine"... The rest belong to my wife and kids.... The 6 of mine all have the nikon's with the BDC and I love them, wouldn't want anything else.
The BDC absolutely works the way it was/is designed. All you need to know is the bullet,?weight, and caliber

That being said, I can see how the circles can bother some folks......they just don't bother me at all

Just get the nikon mil dot. The four dots work the same as bdc and they are way smaller and cover so much less

I prefer a standard reticle overall. I like dots or lines better if using a BDC type of reticle. The Nikon circled clutter up the reticle too much for me.

The BDC reticle is too busy for me. I prefer the Nikoplex standard reticle. Where I hunt most shots are well under 300 yards, so I sight my .270 in at 2 inches high at 100 yards. This allows me to essentially hold the crosshairs in the behind the shoulder vital area and get a lethal hit without having to do any adjustments from 50-275 yards. It has proven very helpful when I am presented with a brief shot opportunity. If I were hunting at longer ranges as, some folks on here, and maybe had a place where deer hung out in the open more, like grazing in a large wheat/oat field, I might appreciate the value of the BDC reticle. For where and how I hunt, the BDC would be more of a visual distraction than a help. I also grew up hunting only with the standard reticle, so that is all I know.

Biggest piece of junk I've ever owned. Too busy and covers up too much
