Last night my wife told me the neighbor's dogs were going nuts (about 500 yards away) about midnight. I got my AR and went down our dirt road to see anything was going on - coyote, whatever. Right in front of me, about 20 yards off, a BIG fox started across the road and froze in the beam of my 275 lumen tactical light. He took a few steps, then stopped, then turned around, then froze again, etc. but didn't take his eyes off the light. The .223 55 gr. V-max transferred him to a parallel universe.
So our feral cats are safe once again.
But I was wondering.... this light, like most of them, has a "strobe" option in the switch. It strobes at about 7-8 flashes per second. So I'm curious, how do animals react to the strobe? Do they freeze the same way, or less, or more? I've never had the opportunity to try it, just curious.
