    Remington Mohawk problem??

I put a scope on my Mohawk 243 and took it to the gun range and had it bore sighted. The guy went back over it and checked to make sure everything was tight. I'm tired of wasting ammo. I can not get this gun to stay constant. I feel like the scope is moving around. I had it an inch low dead center at 25 yards. Moved to 50 yards and it was 2" left and about 3" low. I could never get it back on after that. I have no clue what the problem is and I'm about to just throw this rifle in the safe and let it rot. Any ideas? Maybe someone can help me.

    How many rounds through it?

      What scope?
      Mount?
      Rings?

Is your action tight in the stock?

Stock making contact with the barrel?

      What ammo are you shooting?

It has had under 100 rounds. It has a Nikon prostaff scope bought new. Base I have no clue. Weaver rings. Don't think the stock is making contact. Shooting Remington corelokt 100g.

Always a chance your scope could be broken. No reason it shouldn't shoot. Have you looked into the barrel in a safe manner to make sure the rifling looks okay? Any issues on the crown of the barrel

This gun was my fathers and it only had about a box shot through it before I got it. This gun is in excellent condition. It had a base on it when he gave it to me and I made sure it was tight before I added scope and rings to it.

Put the scope on another rifle and shoot it.

Barrel could be getting hot, let it cool between shots!. I would free float the barrel.

Did you degrease and then Loctite the screws to the receiver when mounting the scope mount bases. If that was done, as someone else said, I would check to make sure the stock is not putting pressure on the barrel. If that is a no go, I would then suspect a possible problem with the scope. Nikons are good scopes, but like anything, they can fail. Good luck troubleshooting it!

Had the same thing happen to me while trying to zero a new Leupold scope on a 444 Marlin.
The rifle was very accurate with open sight but I had the same exact problems you have mentioned.
I sent the scope back to Leupold. They said the cross hairs wouldn't stay put so they replaced the scope.
                    No problems after that.
I would think you have the same problem. If you can try it with iron sights.

Sounds like the erector is failing in the scope.

Check for stock/barrel contact. Every mowhawk that I have had, had stock/barrel contact issues.

                            Put another scope on it.

Being your fathers gun I doubt you want to sell but if you do let me know.

Try going to the 85 grain and see if that helps out.
