    .22 WMR scope suggestions

Thinking about buying a new .22 WMR bolt gun for varmints (yotes, pigs, coons, etc)

    Vortex, Nikon, ???

Do you need a scope specific for rimfire?

I have used open sights on most of my past rimfire guns

I like the hawke scopes, a rimfire with a good AO, reticle, and field of view is good to have.

Scope does not need to be one designed for a rimfire. I just bought a Nikon ProStaff, and am very impressed with the quality and glass in that scope. It is not quite as good as a Monarch, but it was less than half the cost of a new Monarch.

I just use a basic 3-9x40 on mine. I think mine is an inexpensive Bushnell I picked up at academy. Good enough to drop coons out of trees at 100 yds at night. Couldn't ask for more.

I have a BSA sweet .22 on mine. I like it. It's no where near a Vortex or Nikon. But it's been good for me.

While it doesn't have to be, there are Rimfire specific scopes for a reason. They are typically parallax free at 50-60 yards rather than 100 yards like most traditional rifle scopes. In addition they will typically have extended focal ranges for up close shooting.
