    300 AAC blk

So I bought a lower about a month ago and have done with it except move it around the safe trying to find other things. Have been debating on what I was going to do with and finally decided on a 300 Black Out. It will be suppressed and want at least a 16" barrel. I was on Advanced Armaments website and it was discussing a carbine buffer extension of which I have no clue what that is. That is why I came to the great and all knowing GS. I am trying to build a complete rifle with a Maximum of 800 or so dollars in the basic build. Any suggestions. Purpose of this rifle will be to shoot around 100 yards suppressed. Thank you.

I would go with Daniel Defense. There components are top notch and their cold hammer forged barrels are giving me 1/2-1 MOA @100 with stock Barnes 110gr TAC-TX. I've shot several pigs with it now and two deer. I'm getting great performance out if my 16" barrel. They offer two models in .300 Blk the V7 and V5. I got the V7 because I liked that is was not a quad rail and was lighter than other models but keeping a government profile barrel. Good luck.

Any reason to go 16"? The round was designed with a short barrel in mind, and the velocity increase out of a longer barrel is negligible in this round. Just my opinion.

I agree. I'm no expert, but my brother swears by the 300BLK and he has a short barrel (11 inches I think) and a suppressor. Very effective combo and accurate to about 200 yds w/ 125 grain Accubonds.

I'm shooting a 16 inch standards DPMS barrel (no suppressor) and getting 1.5 inch groups at 100 yds. It would be a bit long with a suppressor on it.

To answer question carbine buffer extension is tube where buffer spring sits. As for length I agree you are not going to gain any accuracy from a 16" barrel on this caliber. Lots of research already out there on this topic.

Been killing hogs with mine for 2 years now.

To all I am sure you are correct on the length vs accuracy but, I don't want to wait for both suppresser and SBR before I can use my rifle. I just want a suppressed rifle that is accurate and easily buildable. Thank you Zen for answering my question.

Consider a pistol build unless you're using a lower that was previously built up as a rifle. No tax stamp or travel issues, and works just as well/better for close range. I plan to build a .300 blackout 8" pistol with just a padded buffer tube, then add the Sig brace if I feel it's needed.

Unless you already have the suppressor, the tax stamp for the SBR will come in much quicker than the stamp for the can. Otherwise, build a pistol and put a sig brace on it.
