It is dipped. It has a clear coat called sure grip over the dip. It's supposed to be resistant to gun cleaner and solvents. I haven't tried to clean it yet...

I have to agree. Looks cool and someone did a great job.

But its not for me.

And their not mine so it doesnt matter as long as you like them.
