    Custom Build Need Help

I'm having a custom build on a 700 action 6.5x284 Norma. I need to decide on a stock. This rifle is mainly going to be used for hunting. I'm looking at Mcmillian Game Scout, Mcmillian Hunter and Bell Carlson Medalist stock. Are the Mcmillian Stocks worth the price and between the two Mcmillians which one?
Also how are the Bell Carlson stocks? Any help would be great.

Personally I like the B&C's. McMillan makes an excellent stock don't get me wrong, they feel and look amazing. I am personally not a fan of them as they are fragile and seem to chip and crack very easily due to a thin outside (just my experience working with them). They are however very light weight for their size which can be an advantage. I do not own a McMillan and prob won't unless I can find a smoking deal on one. Just my opinion on them. I have a B&C a5 medalist and love it.

I built a 280AI a couple years ago and put it in a B&C M40 stock. Love it!

Lots of folks rave about McMillan, but I don't understand the hype and $$. But, to each his own I guess.

I'd go with manners after owning one of most of the top brands. I do like my McMillan. I believe it was worth the money but I spent on a fortune on the rifle wearing it lol.

          my suggestions :

          1) Manners MCS-T

          2) McM Remington Varmint

The biggest questions that need to be answered:
are you wanting to make a certain weight, and what type of hunting will you be doing? There are outstanding stocks or chassis for long range prone shooting that wont be conducive to making weight or still hunting/ stalking scenarios. The mcm mountain rifle, manners Ul hunter, or b&c alaskan is where i would look for a true hunting rifle stock. I am very frugal but i can afford to use any stock i want and i see no issues with the b&c on a hunting rifle. It will save you $300 on the cost of the stock and it wont need to be pillar bedded though i would skim bed it. Really great stock especially if you can live with the 13.5" LOP.

This rifle will be for deer hunting most of the time in a blind, it does not have to be light but I don't want a heavy rifle either.
