    Scope my rifle pls...

Just picked up my first .22 win mag. this afternoon. Was wanting some opinions/recommendations on a scope for it. Will mainly be used for some short to medium range varmint/predator hunting both night and day time. Want to try and stay under $400, as I only paid around 380 for it. It's a Savage w/a short, threaded, bull barrel and a rail already mounted on top. Like this...

I would say a 3x9x40. You can choose Monarch or Prostaff depending on budget, prostaff has the rimfire scope.

I'm liking this suggestion. Do you think the larger objective will let in more light in darker conditions?

3.5X10X44 Meopta 399.99 thru nycameraland. Meopta makes Zeiss scopes. I bought one of these a couple months ago and it is as good or better than any of my Zeiss scopes. Zeiss stopped making the Conquest and went to the cheaper Terra. I compared the Meopta to both the COnquest and the Terra and the Meopta won hands down. This scope regular price is 649.99

Meopta makes a great scope but I've never looked at their lower line. I have a meopta meopro 4x12x56 but it's out of his price range.

                          my 2 suggestions

Leupold 3x9x33 Rimfire EFR with AO (LEU110827) $399

                          Leupold 4x12x40 AO (LEU110808) $449

I recommend a scope with an AO so you can fine tune parallax at exact yardages

OP you can't beat this deal for quality if it's a meopro not a meostar. I chose my meopta meopro over a swaro z-3.

Midway has a redfield 3x9x42 for $100 bought 1 earlier in the week. Surely not a Ziess or leupold but good scope for $100 and shows up in 3 days
