    $1,500 or less!!! Go

Just like title said. You have $1,500 or less to buy a new long range gun without glass. Which gun and caliber? Santa clause is wondering what to get me

Something in a top end Savage or a 700 5R mil spec.

If you have a donor action your into semi-custom guns at that price point as well. Then the options are endless.

More info as to the intended purpose would help...

Hunter-punching paper (sporter weight or heavy barrel)
    Competition
    Varmints

If you have $1,500 for a rifle, you'll be broke after the Glass that is required for that smoke pole.

$400 Remington 700 action on gunbroker. Then spend the rest rebarreling & customizing it into whatever you want with my gunsmith.

Weatherby Mark V .30-378. May have to increase the budget a tad or buy used.
