Stainless barrel mark

I have a Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan & this mark has been on it since I purchased it used. Gun kept cleaned in safe with silicon cloth gun sock on it.
It's smooth with no pitting or roughness.

How can I remove it?

OOOO steel wool and Rem Oil or similar oil ... rub gently


another option, re-bead blast barrel by gunsmith and keep light coat of oil on barrel steel

I was reading online and also read about using an eraser, vinegar and water combo, some kind of metal polish and even Comet

If you get too crazy u will wind up with a super shiny spot that looks worse than the blemish.

Just use the 4/0 steel wool with a light oil and barely rub it
