I never thought this day would come. When I first met my Fiance, I never would have imagined her getting out in the country and going hunting with me. Well she decided that she wanted to go deer hunting with me for the opening day for rifle season. I have a few cameras out where we hunt and she picked out what buck she wanted. To my surprise she picked a decent size 6 point that has been coming around pretty frequently.
We get down to the blind around 5:30 in the morning and wait. She didn't complain at all about how cold it was (its just a pop-up blind so no heater) or how early we got there.
We saw quite a few does and young bucks when the sun came up but nothing that was legal yet. Around 8:45 out walks a nice 8 point that I probably would have taken, but she said that she wanted her 6 point that she thought was "pretty."
Right at 9 a.m. the 6 point comes walking out of the brush into the open. She waits for a clear shot, about 80 yards out, and fires off my .300 win mag. He didn't know what hit him. He only made it 20Ft before he dropped.
She was calm as can be until after the shot. That's when she started shaking like crazy and was all excited. I had to keep her in the blind for a bit and explain to her why you wait a little bit just to make sure the animal is dead and not going to jump up and surprise us.
Here are the pictures of her "LIL 6" 16 3/4 spread and scored a 102 3/4
