    Question for the Reloaders

For precision loads, do you prefer balance beam or digital scale?

    Balance beam.
Just make sure you zero it.

Digital is how I roll. But either, properly calibrated, is fine.

            Digital all the way.

All the digital scales I have looked at say accurate to +/- 1/10 grain.

I take that to mean one load could be 1/10 grain over and the next could be 1/10 grain under weight.

What do y'all do to eliminate this issue?

                  Balance beam.

I have two digitals (both Hornady), and although they are decent for getting close, I can measure something three times and get three different readings past the decimal point.

                  All the best,
                  Glenn

Digital all the way. Or if you want to be super sure you can get [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sqNcs-uWzY"]one of these[/ame].

Doesn't matter...have & use both with the balance beam as my primary.

A GOOD chronograph & BETTER powder measure like the Harrell's make life easier for creating precision loads. There is no reason to measure 'every' round for benchrest type shooting...once the sweet spot is found, you note the clicks on the measure & throw.

Practice on the range & reading conditions are way more important than the Exact # of grains for every round.

Find your load using the optimal charge weight then you won't vertical stringing if your slightly off due to temp or charge weight.

I use the Chargemaster for rifle and double check scale when starting with a balance beam then take off.

I don't. It doesn't matter. Powder throws are less accurate than that with extruded powders.

Ok. What's a good digital scale that won't break the bank? Under $200
