I'm new to the 223 / 5.56 ammo, and I'm looking for a good all round ammo that I can use for Hogs, Yotes, and other varmints. I have no plans on hunting Whitetail with it. I have purchased some cheap target FMJ stuff, but what should I use for general hunting. Hollow Points, Soft Points, Varmint Tipped???Thanks for any advise

i asked this same question a while back and settled on the Winchester 55 gr soft points. They did a great job on a coyote this past week. I prefer them over the polymer tip rapid expansion. I've shot a few boxes of the polymer tip but wasn't crazy about the results.
I picked these based on availability, my gun's twist rate, and lastly price.

Yup, Fusions get my vote for sure. i shot a doe in the neck with one this past Sunday and the aftermath reminded me of Kill Bill.
i also do not doubt the killing power of Winchester Super X 64g Power Points. They just dont group as well as the Fusions do in my particular rifle, but certainly will get the job done.
The only thing i would worry about is finding an all around bullet for hogs and other animals also. i certainly would not shoot a hog of any considerable size with a ballistic tipped varmit bullet and expect to get decent penetration, although this style of bullet would be fine for yotes and other small game
