    6.5 Grendel reloading help

I'm working on reloading for my 6.5 Grendel. The gun is more accurate then I am and I'm trying to find a good load for the Barnes 100 gr TTSX bullet. Any ideas?

Also I'm having some problems with CFE223 having alot of carbon blow back into the chamber using just standard bench rest primers. This goes all the way up to 31.1 gr of powder with max being 31.2gr. Any ideas?

I shoot 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tips in my Grendel, with Hodgdon Benchmark powder and a magnum primer.

The part about getting carbon blow-back in the chamber from CFE has me perplexed. Unless you are attempting to use steel cases, carbon blow-back shouldn't' be a concern.

Yea I'm in the same boat as you. I'm thinking it's not sealing the chamber allowing blow back. Primers are rounded when they should be flattening out reaching those pressures. I'm taking it out today with magnum primers being the only change.

Thanks for introducing me to the Groendel (sp?). Didn't really know what it was all about until your post prompted me to check it out. I have been a big fan of the 6.5 since the early 60's when I got a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. I just think the Swedes had it right and the 6.5 is the ideal mil cartridge and a lot of the current research is starting to bear that out. After the 6.5 Swede I went to a .264 Mag and was totally disappointed. The mag didn't really have any apprecialbe advantage over the 6X55 other than muzzle blast. Sorry, I'm rambling.

I use 30.5 grains of 8208XBR and get 2800 fps out of an 18" barrel with the 100 grain TTSX at 2.260" coal.

Or at least I used to before I sold the rifle to a fellow TBH'er.
