Coyote rounds ?

What is a good bullet type in 223 Remington that will be good for coyotes. I am looking for something that will not tear the hide up.

Use a 17 hmr. I shoot them all the time with mine out to 100 yards and never mess up the hides just the insides

Factory only?

I shoot coyotes and bobcats with 50gr bergers and they have small holes and no exits.

Yeah factory. I have used hornady soft points and they are pretty rough on the hides.

I am hit or miss on how bad it tears up the hide with 45 gr JHP winchester whitebox. If I hit em solid in the chest usually not a bad hole but smack em further back in the guts and it rips em wide open. But my preferred method is the .270 I like em dead and don't care about salvaging the hide

I've used the Hornady 55gr Soft points and the Federal Fusion 62gr with success.

I shot a doe in the neck with American eagle 50gr varmint tip and the hide was not torn up. Bullet passed through, best two things about them is my AR loves them and they are cheap.
