I am sure this has been brought up before and I hate to bring it up again but.. I have searched the internet and found a lot of the info im looking for but I would like to hear from the people that have had first hand experience. I know the Amax is not inteded for hunting but I won't shoot anything else out of my .308 it is a strait killer. My 6.5 loves the 120 Amax I can put it wherever I want it to go. I know shot placement is key but how well does this lighter Amax work on deer?

I shot the 123 Amax at about 3000 fps in mine, and surprisingly it would out penetrate the 140. I was getting complete penetration on deer out to 400 yards, and it would be under the skin on large hogs. The 140 seemed to explode in the chest cavity.Comment

My wife killed a doe last year with the 140 amax, good performance and left a big hole for easy short blood trail.Comment
