    New double barrel stock

    Hello

Does anyone know a gunsmith that can build a new stock for my side by side. I am just looking to add a prettier piece of wood. And replace the hack job someone did when the spliced two pieces of wood together.

Any idea something like this would cost?

I am not sure the make and model to be honest, my grandfather gave it to me. I know it is French and from 1940's or 50's.

How much are U willing to spend? Cause I'm sure it won't be cheap....I just ordered a finished stock from Boyd's..for an old Stevens from that era....But I doubt they would have one for that one....

Call Freers in Spring Branch or Brileys . See if they still do that kind of work or who they recommend. I knew Les Freer back in the sixties and he did.

Briley's would be my first call. Restocking shotguns can get real expensive real quick, depending on the type of wood and grade you choose

That's what I was afraid of. Especially considering how intricate the side and top is. I think I am just going to refinish the wood and call it good.

Irks me that someone would chop up the top of a stock like that.
