    7x57 finished

I have had this rifle for about 20 years, and it got a new barrel about 4-5 years ago. It has been knocked around, beat up, and killed a ton of critters. Recently I gave it to my oldest son (it is the rifle he killed his first deer with) but decided I needed to give it a face lift and dress it up some for him. So, I got out the Cerakote and went to work.

    Interarms Mark X action
Shilen Stainless Select Match barrel chambered by Tip Burns, 22" length
Metalwork Cerakoted in 60% Tactical Grey, 40% Sniper Grey, custom mix
Bell and Carlson old school fiberglass stock (a touch heavy but really stable)
Nice crisp trigger set at 3 lb
    Leupold Vari-X II 4x12x40 AO
Consistent 1/2 MOA rifle with 140 grain NBT's

Basically just a good solid hunting rifle that will do about anything you ask of it, within reason. I have always loved the 7x57, in fact I have HAD two of them. I guess I just have one now since this one isn't mine anymore.

Good lookin rifle, excellent caliber. I've got an old Chilian Mauser in 7x57, full military stock.
It even still has the ink stamp on the cheek stock marked "1895".

I have more than a couple nice rifles, but my oldest son has just always gravitated to this one for some reason. I have known for a long time I would lose it to him someday. It was my first custom built rifle, I think I had it done originally in 1993 or so. My middle son shoots a Bryant Custom .270 that is his baby. Both my boys are old enough they are away from home now but they still keep their guns at my place for the time being since they hunt down here anyways. My daughter is 6, and I am in grave danger of losing my CZ-527 to her. She is getting pretty good with it. I have already lost my custom 10/22 to her.
