    What in the......

I was looking around for an old remington xr100 in .204 and came across this. Not real sure why somebody would do this but thought that it was funny. Maybe it should go into the tacticool thread.....Lol

Again, this is NOT my rifle...

Here is the description that they had....

"The 2nd Scope "Doggy Style" SPOTTER SCOPE is an idea of mine. If your eyes are "a little older", you appreciate higher magnification. With the higer power comes the problem of acquiring the target. If you have or want to hunt prairie dogs, ground squirrels. groundhogs, etc.... they always appear at different distances. With the "Doggy Style" SPOTTER SCOPE . TARGET AQUISITION is simple. From 50 yards to 500 yards, swing on your targert, focus and Squeeze !!! The "Doggy Style" SPOTTER SCOPE is attached by one QD (quick detach ) ring and it can be removed in seconds.
Try this "Doggy Style" SPOTTER SCOPE , and see how much FRUSTRATIOIN is eliminated !!!!! "

Ive seen that. That guy has some really nice rifles. I would love to have one of the ruger no1 rifles that he has. Too much $$ for me.

Actually an interesting notion, especially if you're using a really high power scope to shoot with. Kinda crazy and probably not actually practical in practice though

I have pondered the idea of putting them side by side like binoculars... they would gather more light just like your binocs do..you simply look through both and pull the trigger.. but I never have done anything about it besides set in the blind and ponder it

If it was a good idea, everyone would have done it long ago...

He must be a big ole boy or he uses his chin to get a cheek weld. I couldn't even shoot that thing it is mounted so high and a straight comb stock to boot and that is just for the lower scope.

So what would be the point of doing that??

I don't think he's shooting with the top scope. I think he's shooting long distances at prairie dogs with a high power scope (like 20x or more) and he's using the top scope to acquire his target so he's not searching in and out between 100-600 yards trying to find target's in his 20x scope. Just find's them and points at em in the 9x or whatever, and then all he has to do in his scope is adjust for point of impact, not completely acquire his target.
At least that's the way I read it, and it's the only way I can see that being in the slight bit useful
