    CHL/CD question?

What would be the law as far as dropping the kids off at the pull through in front of the school with a firearm in the vehicle? Seems like a no but I am not sure.
    Thanks,

as far as I know and understand that is fine, you just cannot take the firearm inside the school.

This is correct. Parking lots/driveways are okay.

I know if you have your CHL you are allowed to be on school property. Cannot enter the school or go to an event.

That's pretty much it. Just be aware if they have an awning that covers the drive and the awing is attached to the school building, it's considered part of the building.
