Small grip. I assume they have an extension that will make the grip a full size grip?

As soon as they make a SS 9 my wife wants one.

Yes, several extension options on the market. The grip really isn't that short without one. It's only about 1/4 inch shorter than the Glock 19.

Lots of 1911's out there in 45 and even 9 if you want a single stack...

That was always my thinking as well. I'm slowly but surely moving to the dark side from my 1911 to a Glock.

Oh I have both... I see the need for both... I've even carried both. The only dark side is not owning any... That's a very dark place.

Pistols are small... Safes are big. No need to just own one or two of em.... Get a whole bunch heck at the price of some of the glock police trade ins you can keep one in every bag you own.

Agreed, I also own both. I just finally decided I wanted to carry more rounds with less weight most of the time. My g35 with full mag and two spares adds up to 46 rounds, whereas the same load with my 1911 is only 25 rounds. I haven't put them on scales or anything, but the Glock and two spares feels lighter than my all steel 1911 by itself.
Add to that the ability to add a light to the Glock and it makes it even more appealing since I work at night a lot.

On the police trade ins, I keep watching for the gen3 models to hit the shelves at GT's. Lately all I've seen is the gen2 from Bexar County, but I know they are currently trading in gen3's for gen4's, so the 3's should be for sale son.

                    I'm still disappointed that the G42 wasn't 9mm.

Exactly! And I shot the .40 again this weekend. I kinda liked it.

I've been carrying the g27 for a while now and love it.... It's lighter and I carry more ammo with it than the ultra carry I was toting. I will say the comptac Minotaur holster is the best holster ive ever owned for tucakable IWB as it helps me forget the gun is there too.

I've heard the same on the gen 3 g22's... I just sold my gen 2 g22 in hopes it happens soon... However I haven't missed it yet as the g23 always feels better in my hand and shoots better... I may not replace the g22.

Yep, the Comptac holster keeps me reaching for my G19 daily instead of my SR1911 Commander. Its still funny to realize that I walk around with more than 2x the amount of 9mm vs 45acp.

I too carry the G23 and love it. And own a 1911 and a couple of Glocks. And a few others. And 2 safes...
A man can NEVER have to many guns. Only need more safes.

Betcha there will be a 9mm version this year after SHOT. I was talking with one of the Glock pro shooters a couple months ago at the Nationals and he hinted at it. Said that they are trying to get a functioning 22 out as well.....
