pray for us here in Indiana!

There has been some talk to allow us here in Indiana to use .243 or larger rifles to hunt deer. We have been able to use some handgun ammo and a few wildcat's for the last five or so years. I think that they were trying to condition us into using something other than a shotgun and muzzleloader.
I hope that I will be able to use my .257 sometime in the future.

If you are apart of hunting organization, have them research what happened in WI. We had alot of shotgun only areas that were changed to allow rifles. Nothing but good happened, more deer were harvested (in those zones, it was a good thing), accidents were down, and hunter numbers increased

If it dose pass, and you are fully expecting it to, you might look at buying another rifle or two while the prices are down there. If it dose pass, demand will certainly increase. And so will the prices. When I lived in Ohio, had very similar restrictions. Deer rifles were really cheap because there was no need for them being a slug and muzzle loader state for deer gun season. Exceptions were the 25.06 for it's long range woodchuck killing power, and small bore arms for such. Larger bore like 270, 7mm, 30cal, and up, were not much us there when competing with the 22-250, .222 and ect for rockchucks and woodchucks. I moved there for 3.5 years after I got married. Some of the things a man will do for a woman .

Edit: I still hunt and use slug guns today. Makes the long action rifle calibers real manageable when comparing recoil. Like shooting a Daisy

I was raised using a shotgun in Ohio. Now I feel like I am cheating when I use a rifle. I hope they do change it for you. Shotguns are tough on kids as a first time hunter. But, when I go back I will still use my 1100. Heck, I have even used it in TX! I get some weird looks. I love getting them in close!

I like .257 wby but would like a .270 or .30-06. Still would keep my .450 it's pretty nice rifle to have and it is easy for my girls to handle since it has an adjustable A4 stock.

I am sure that there will be some shotgun zones.

It is now in writing, again this is just a proposal. I hope that it does indeed go through.

They are in Kentucky, Illinois and Ohio. Not Indiana.
