Range day

Spent the morning just shooting and checking different poi with my generic reloads and factory sst loads. Really like how this 65 creed is shooting out of a deer rifle. Not going to break accuracy records with my deer hunting gun. Shot 4 times with 129 gr sst in front of 46 grs of superformance powder. Pulled shot #2 so went ahead and buckled down and shot two more. 5 th time is with factory 129sst superformance ammo. You can see the impact difference is almost 4" low at 396 yards.



Had my helper this morning my oldest daughter (6) she was tired since the hike up the mountain is basically straight up.


We didn't leave before she shot the 223. She did pretty good 4 of 5 head shots at 100 yards. I know her wanting to hang out won't last long. She already didn't want to hold my hand first day of 1st grade walking to the school.

I'm trying to get her to come to the Sonora lease to shoot a deer or pig. She is a bit of a softy right now. So I'll take her paper killing as long as she wants to go. I asked her about the flyer she was like don't worry about that one lol

I believe that if they're meant to be hunters they'll ask to shoot an animal when ready. My oldest was 12 when he got his 1st deer and my youngest was 9. The young one has has shot other animals since, the oldest (now 16) hasn't taken another shot at an animal, but likes to shoot at targets and still hunts with me. Both had perfect 1 shot kills on their 1st deer. The fact that they both like being with me in the outdoors and shooting is what makes me happy.
