the ring around the cylendar is normal. revolvers get them over time with use.
depends on asking price. i'd say that piece was used well, but decently taken care of.

That's from normal use. Not a deal breaker at all unless you want a safe queen. Make sure the cylinder locks up nicely and does not have end shake side to side movement. Those are build like a tank so I'm sure it's fine.

Looks a lot like my Redhawk. The wear is normal. I would be more concerned if there was a large gap between the cylinder and the bbl. Looks like it is in good condition from the photos.

Thanks for the help guys. Right now the plan is to trade my sig p238 for it straight up. I think it's a decent deal.

Grizz what does bbl stand for?

Can't really tell much from that pic but as has been mentioned the ring on the cylinder is no big deal.

If you are unsure meet at a mutual gunsmith and have him check cylinder lock up, play and timing.

He can also check the forcing cone for flame cutting as well.

Rugers are notorious for the wear of the cylinder lock around them. Just about every ruger does that. I've got some that are fairly new that have as bad of marks as old ones. Very good revolvers though!

Nothing wrong from those photos. I would ask for a closer photo of where the cylinder meets the barrel, as well as the inside of the top strap in that location as well with the cylinder open. Good looking Ruger
