    Powder question (reloading)

    is there a dependable website or book that lists what powders interchange or how they relate to each other?

    IE I see IMR4350 and H4350 on a reloading data table. One is for 110gr bullets and other is 130gr. Almost identical starting powder charges.

    Before I get a lecture, I know to follow books and not just throw any powder available in a case

    I would just like to know if there are certain powders that have the same characteristics. ie is 4350 the same from any manufacturer?

    Refer to the burn rate charts

      +1 on burn rate charts. Powders with similar burn rates should perform about the same.

            Some powders are the exact same. I haven't heard that about H4350 and IMR 4350. Here are some that are

            HP38=231
            H110=296
            HS6=540
            HS7=571
            WAP=Silhouette

                Hogden power is less tempeture sensitive than alot of other powers.

                  IMR 4350 and H4350 are very similiar, but not the same. IIRC, the IMR can be a touch faster in some applications. Some other powders that are the same though, are H 414 and W 760.

                    X3 on the burn rate charts. Then factor in volume
