denting primers while loading

I tired to prime some cases but they are denting? what am i doing wrong? I am using the RCBS hand primer.

If it is the RCBS hand primer with the separate rods, one small and one large the rods have a round end and a flat end. The flat end faces the primers.

Squeezing to hard ? It don't take much to seat them. Its the only thing I can think of.

The rod is in upside down. I've done it before when just starting out. Made me feel really dumb when I realized it haha.

Winchester primers? Sounds like the RCBS guys got it figured out. I use a Lee hand primer and it only goes one way.
