I have a Pro-Hunter barrel in .22-250. I've killed some pigs with it. It is not my caliber of choice for them though. Or deer. Great round. Just not what I consider ideal for the application.

Sequel to my comment: 2 of my 3 son's took their first buck's....1 was 9, other was 11 with ONE shot at 125 yards. Like others have said, shot placement with ANY caliber is what counts. Oh, they fell right where they were shot....

Like I said originally, " a well placed shot with this lil gun is devastating and I don't have bruises when I get into the multiples with it".
It's true it's not the idea caliber if a discerning and well placed shot can't be made but if you can put it in the bucket it's a super fun and destructive little round. Wish I had found it much earlier in life as kumathebear talked about with his young sons. Id had a freakin blast with it.
Thanks guys Im glad to see so many enjoying this cool little round.

I've shot the same Remington 700 Classic, factory gun (and allot) since 1983 and will never part with it. I've always reloaded for it. Sierra 52gr BTHP at 3450fps will still shoot 1/2" groups. It's had over 15 first time kills by kids and adults. I've killed deer at 620 yds also.
I now own 3 of them and they're awesome!!!

impossible! Everyone knows that the 250 isnt big enough bullet to be considered deadly! why its just a pea shooter! you need a 300WM to be a real hunter!

i really can't wait to start building another 22-250
