Me my dad and brother headed to the range this morning to do some shooting. I spent most of my trigger time load tuning my .300 Winchester. Had a blast with that, and found out that it is very happy shooting H4831. Now I've got to load up a couple groups to find the right powder/ bullet combo that really wants to make it sing.
We also spent a little time sighting in and checking zero on some new and some not so new rifles.
This is dad's .270 that he's had since he was 14. Not to shabby
Little brother with dad's 40x. He spent the time me and dad spent load tuning shooting about 10 groups with this. The flyer was the 3rd shot, the other 4 were inside of .13
Here's the rifle my roommate (Elgatobandito) had me pick up for him yesterday. Me and dad came home and cooked up a mid range load, then dad shot this after sighting it in. Not to shabby for no load tuning! Gotta love those old 700's
Group of the day. My newest rifle in .270 WSM and the first brand new rifle I've ever owned. Shot this well with factory ammo, can't wait to see what it'll do with hand loads! I wish I could say I shot it, but after I sighted it in my shoulder was toast, so I let dad shoot it (he thinks it's his gun) so I could get a little more brass
I only managed to get that 40x down to .8 today. I'm gonna borrow it from dad though, that gun will really really show you the mistakes you make while shooting!
All in all, it was an awesome day at the range! And oh yea, those 4 rifles are all factory
