Nope not on backwards. But I have been having my dumb moments today.

Cleaning rod? Stick it in there and smack it open. I've had to do this on a bolt action a time or 2.

You should not do this with an AR15. If the bolt is fully forward, then the locking lugs will not open from pressure on the bolt face, you will only stress your lugs.

I did the same thing and I jerked on the charge handle and released it.
Extractor didn't damage, but it bent my firing pin and put a hang in my trigger.
It would fire, cycle the round and not fire the next round. Gun smith and I cleaned it several times and found the issue on accident.

I pushed the trigger forward, then the trigger functioned properly I forgot what it is called but it's the catch that keeps the gun from multi firing. Keeps the hammer off the pin till the trigger is released. It had a catch in it. Gun smith repaired it.

Double check everything on you gun!

While I just broke every thing down again to look over. Firing pin looks fine, and trigger seems ok. I guess I will find out when I get to the range.

Be sure to collapse the stock before you mortar unless you want pieces everywhere and fingers damaged
