I just wanted an economical and/or basic 9mm and with the HI-Point C9 9mm ... I'm NOT disappointed. Just got back from the range and with 100 rounds NO FTF or Failures to Feed ... plus great groups at 7 yards, 15 yards, and 20 yards.

I understand opions and maybe you fired or handled one but the guy 2 shooting positions down wasn't doing so good with his Glock ...
I know there are better built pistols but for the price and durabailty ... They can't be beat for a stricktly home defense pistol.
I've seen a few comments like yours while searching and what I find is most of them never even fired one ...

Glad you are enjoying your new 9mm, and glad that you are not disappointed. I never was with any of mine either. I never owned the pistols, but I owned two of the carbines - one 9mm and one .40. They performed extremely well, and I was always impressed with the groups I got with them.
Then I got bit by the AR bug a few years ago, and became a bit of an AR snob for a while. I sold off both carbines, and for a period of time, had no regrets. That is... Until I saw my buddy shooting my old 9mm carbine, tearing up the target center and having a ton of fun with his kids shooting it. I wish I hadn't sold either. They probably wouldn't have got the use that I put into them when I first got them, but they were reliable, accurate firearms, and were fun to shoot.
I got some dirty looks at the range from some gun snobs, but some actually got so curious after seeing it shoot, they wanted to know "how much, where can I buy one, how does it feel, etc..." I let a few shoot it, and had some converts to the "cheap, ugly gun that looks like it was manufactured with tractor parts" (Their comments).
The ONLY thing I would tell you that seems to be a downfall of the Hi-Point lineup (at least in both carbines): Check your clearances. Open the slide and lock it back. On the carbines, the firing pin would be pushed out quite a bit. If you insert a loaded magazine into it and push hard, the top round would hit the firing pin, eventually bending / breaking it. Hi-Point has great customer service, as I heard of plenty of people calling for new firing pins, which they quickly sent with no hassle. Knowing this, I always loaded my magazine into the carbine with the slide closed, and then racked it once the mag was in. I never bent a firing pin, but I did do the test on mine and I could see that if I were to have slapped the magazine in hard, the top round would have hit the firing pin, bending or breaking it. Some recommended just gently inserting the mag until it clicked into place, but I don't care for inserting mags that way.
Enjoy your new pistola!
All the best,
Glenn

I've owned a couple that I bought dirt cheap. Felt like crap. Looked like crap. But I never had any jamming issues. I think a guy would be crazy to use it as a home defense gun lol. I think the two I bought I paid $50 each for. They aren't very accurate, but they have fired every time I pulled the 90# trigger
Glad you like yours!! Sounds like they improved the accuracy.
