        kevin,
AN RDS or a 1x4 scope is perfect for what you'll be doing with this.

Im prolly going to take my 3.5x10 scope off and go with an RDS or 1x4 for the hunt.

NO SCOPE!!! That way she MIGHT miss!!! break left, then right randomly... Don't make it easier for her!!!

Seriously, if it were me and I felt like there would be a good possibility of a moving shot through brush, spot and stalk, dogs, etc. I'd leave it with open sights... Tree stand/ground blind, maybe a low power scope...

Me too. I have a Winchester 30-30 with iorn sights. It is deadly out to 150. Ask the buck at the taxidermist right now. Something cool about shooting one with iorn sights as well.

Leave it. It's got a classic look that never goes out of style.

If it were an older gun, I would vote no scope. But being a newer gun, I don't think it would look goofy with a 1-4x scope.

I think you should ask Lucas McCain! He never missed and used open sights.

Lucas McCain never used sights; he always shot from the hip.

Geez….. You should know that Mark.

No scope. If your eyes are good, 75 yds is no sweat and the 30-40 yd shots are really fun. It's like bowhunting with a gun. Of course, with a scope you could shoot 200 yds but where's the fun in that?

Ignore the huge suppressor mount.... I havent removed it and put the thread protector back on yet haha.

This is the leupold VXR 1.25-4x with the firedot reticle. Where it sits right now i can throw the gun up and have a much better sight picture quicker than i can with the open sights. However, when i crank it up to 4x, the scope is too far forward. The eye relief on this scope at 1.25x is amazing. I am going to keep playing with it and buy some higher QD rings and move it back once i can clear the rear sight and then im buying a stock pack to get my cheek up higher.

I hope this helps. For distance, i think a small optic is needed. At least for me. Im not the best of shot with open sights on a rifle.
