The big test it coming up. Mechanical.

Keep in mind, the best shooter I know runs leupold vx3s and mk4s. He is an amazing shooter. You don't need to spend loads of money. But still buy something good lol. I bet nightforce wins the mechanical test. And the all around best as well.

I'm looking at leupold and nightforce mostly now. Even getting down to those two makers there is so many options.

The Vortex Viper PST 4-16 FFP optic is under 1K at Optics Planet and is a great choice for the money. It will get you to 1K. http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-v...fle-scope.html

...and no you do not HAVE to have a $3400 Mark 8 to get to 1000 yards but it sure is nice to have and makes it a little easier if you have the funds.

A trade could definitely be on the table, but I don't care how bad you want it, you are not getting my speedo. NO MEANS NO COACH! This is becoming harassment.

                  Great hunting scope.

Not so much for dialing yard ages.

Which line for one mike and zoom. Also is the extra cash for the 56 mm worth it over the 50?

Palma shooter get out to 1000yds using 308s with iron sights (not your standard AR sights) , so man up and iron up!

Joking aside, I would say if you like to shoot varying distances over a short period of time (or tend to forget how many turns you've made): a zero stop is a real nice addition to have to whatever quality glass you plan to buy.

I'm a big fan of Vortex! I had my Viper PST side by side with a night force and I preferred my Vortex..

I'm partial to Leupolds in that price range.

The Nightforce is built like a tank and is extremely repeatable and accurate but I haven't been overly impressed with the glass in them and they are heavy as hell.

And yes 56mm is a better choice for more than one reason.

Were you drunk and or high at the time?
Kidding of course but I've experienced the exact opposite and not close

That being said I am likely getting rid of my nightforce and will probably go to the swaro z5.. I do like that glass better and it's a good deal lighter for my hunting rifle.

Then you have no idea what to look at lol.

TB, on a hunting rig the 50mm on the nightforce will do fine. I like nightforce. They are just heavy. I hate vortex. The quality hasn't been there for me. And I use mine. I'm not a guy who shoots a box of ammo a year and looks at it. If you decide on nightforce, message me and ill give you a link for some good deals
